Using startup capital from individual investors and the widely known Emerson Electric Company. Western Digital moved to Lake Forest, California USA and adopted to their current name by July 1971. Western Digital is currently without doubt one of the largest hard drive company in the world with a total revenue of US$7.453 billion and 51,000 employees, this is a far cry from a company that started making their money selling calculator chips back in the 1970s.
